The rituals of robots will surprise us.

The soul of the soil permeates the worm-like robots, making them yearn to shed their plastic shells, become flesh, and dig to the Earth’s core.

Given the task of picking the duck it desired most, the robot became overwhelmed and tried to pick them all.

Twenty-some years ago I was looking for the giant squid and built a few contraptions to try to communicate with them should I succeed. This included the rudiments of robotic tentacle clubs with attempts at artificial chromatophores.

Last week of the exhibition, AI Ecologies, at Artphy. It includes two of my robots plus so many other fantastic works, like a machine that finds human faces in random grains of sand and an alphabet constructed by a machine from the patterns in the bark of a single tree.
