I am getting a little worried about BC housing legislation. I think it was a big mistake to not require 'pre-zoning' for the transit areas, *at best* cities are going to drag their heels and at worst they will find other reasons to reject proposals. Gonna need some more tweaks!

People are complaining about the fountains in vancouver, saying we need to turn them off to conserve water for the summer.

Meanwhile we sell Nestle 265 million liters of water a year, for which they pay the princely sum of $596.

That's not a Typo.

This is a really concerning decision.

(And another example of a major decision made by a last minute ABC amendment, that the rest of us had no info about before the vote.)

Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation reduced the sheltering spaces in “designated area” from 16 to 14.

There are still over 24 ppl #sheltering on the hillside, but not allowed to move down.

Even tho they initially stated that it was just a clean up, and ppl wld be able to move back in.

The heads of the 'Solid Waste Management Department' aka the Garbage Department who are responsible for street sweeps and have a combined salary of $320,000/year are at CRAB.

These 2 led the destruction of the Hastings Tent City and make a career out of displacement.

CRAB PARK DECAMPMENT UPDATE THREAD:

Residents who were not home when fences were put up to cutoff the tent city are not being allowed in to collect their belongings. This is a tactic to destabilize people's lives and displacement (again, this is not about cleaning).
