This week in nature, Olga Dudchenko 🇺🇦 and thednazoo team join with @R_Mallarino and Jorge Moreno 🪼 to study the evolution of gliding in marsupials. Beautiful example of how rapid genome assembly enables new model organisms (here, sugar glider) for a specific problem.

What limits rubisco function? Is it the chemical mechanism? Evolution? In an updated pre-print Michael Prywes et. al explore this question by assaying >99% of single amino acid mutants in Form II rubisco (1/7)

A very cool story from our colleague Stefan Pulst University of Utah! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Check out our latest work! 👇We leverage pretrained protein generative models (here Chroma Generate:Biomedicines ) as a prior for inverse problems in protein space (e.g. structure completion, distance contraints, cryo-EM model building). ❄️🏗️ Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2406.04239

How do you redefine what's possible in science? Ask John Ingraham, our Head of Machine Learning, who was named to Boston Business Journal's 2024 40 Under 40! John’s a pioneer in Generative Biology, using ML and AI to revolutionize drug discovery. Congrats, John! lnkd.in/eKaA94-F

Excited to share our lab's first preprint: we used spatial transcriptomics to dissect how aging disrupts the cycling ovary! 🧵 This was an incredible team effort w/ Jennifer Garrison Tammy Lan David Fischer AlisonKochersberger Ruth Raichur Sophia Szady

Congrats Noam Prywes and team! Carbon fixation is next to godliness
