Someone asks are we certifying the #iacaucus results as true and accurate? Answer given is that the results are being certified. Period. Motion to close debate passes. Motion is to certify the results of the caucus. Roll call underway.

Motion to certify #iacaucus passes Iowa Democrats State Central Committee, 22 yes, 13 no. So I think that means the 2020 Iowa Caucuses are finally done.

Stopping in to watch State Central Committee certification of #iacaucus results was my bonus for today. Here's why I'm really in Des Moines. Thanks to Seth Cohen, Troy Price and other Iowa Democrats for facilitating this in-caucus survey. And thanks to voters who filled it out.

Sitting in a Des Moines McDonald's, next to a group of older folks talking about Bernie Sanders. He's a socialist; he's proud of it, one says incredulously. And he likes Fidel. Another quotes the Bible and adds that the fabric of the country is being torn by people like Bernie.

Yep. To me this seems like the solution to the early state problem for the Democrats. NH wouldn't like it, but it makes sense. And IA , NV could keep their caucuses.

Been saying this for a while. People are exhausted and just want things to go back to something reasonable. It is one reason why Warren's "big structural change" did not catch on. It was scary. And that was before the virus. "Steady" is what's craved now.

This story on the demise of the Sanders campaign (yes, I know he's still "running") and stories like it of other campaigns, reminds me if Tolstoy 's line: "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." nytimes.com/2020/03/21/us/…

New from Patrick Rynard: For all its flaws, the Iowa Caucus did provide important benefits to the national and local party (even if its downsides outweighed them). Democrats would be wise to consider how to replicate the good parts of Iowa elsewhere. iowastartingline.com/2022/12/02/be-…
