At his recent Mainstage run, SluG used a very cool piece of Ice Climbers tech that often goes unnoticed, so I thought I’d talk about it!

got a new pb yesterday!

i was playing puff ics (as ics)

and I noticed that the puff wasn’t approaching…

so i went to ledge!!!

got 300 cliffhangers in one game (new pb) and also…

I TIMED OUT THE PUFF AS ICS!!!

i love puff ics, it’s my favorite mu in melee!!!

it has been 15 months since I last wobbled

if it were ever unbanned in tournament, i may consider breaking this streak…

currently, I have been enjoying learning something new instead!

i think the tech is called “punish game”

idea:

normally when you grab a character, they can’t do anything but mash

but if you grab ice climbers, nana can just downsmash and punish you for grabbing!

upon coming to this realization, i think ics may now be the best character in melee!

how do you win without grabbing?!?

so some people have been asking,

“how do i beat X character with ics now that wobbling is banned?”

ive had a year to think this over, and i now have an answer:

wavedash… DOWNSMASH!

i have labbed this technique against LEVEL 9 CPUS… and i haven’t dropped a set!

i love melee

new daily practice routine (without wobbling)

wake up, and turn on my bed crt (crt in my bed)

turn on melee

wave dash on fd for 30 min

wd dsmash for 15 min

hold down (to practice cc) for 15 min

practice neutral vs a lvl 9 cpu fox for 1 hr (difficult!)

melee is the best <3

i have officially gone 12 months without wobbling!

i know now that even without wobbling, melee is still the sickest game ever!

this year has been a bit tough, but i am so thankful for the smash community

you guys are the best, thank you :)

melee without wobbling has breathed new life into the game for me

for the first time, i actually have to think while playing!

it has been a nice break, ive learned so much ;)
