@i_am_a_pfhb

Just trying to be a proper functioning human being.

#ExChristian
Even if there is a creator, it is laughably obvious the Christian God is not it.

They find it hard to understand because they cannot allow it, due to cognitive dissonance. People like me didn't "leave their amazing Saviour". It was a dawning realisation that it was a mirage/self-delusion, that Christ was purely brain function, not a 3rd party living being.

Some people put crystals on their body to absorb negative energies. Some people pray using bible verses because the truth in the words makes a difference. It is all just fantasy. Imagining a world that does not exist apart from in your own imagination.

"People talk as though Michael Tait can’t be a Christian and struggle in horrific sin. David was a rapist. The blood is what justifies every believer." Why is the bar set so low by Christians? I thought you were born again and made a new creation? julieroys.com/former-newsboy…

The algorithm loves to give me a chuckle in the morning. A post by 'Professor of Christian Theology and Director of the Masters Programs' gets told he believes in heresy by a random Christian. 2000 years on they still debate basic soteriology.

Such a simple question: Is divorce a sin? Here is a sample of the answers: Yes, Not unforgiveable, Yes, No, No, Depends. Every Christian just makes up their own theology.

I keep seeing Christians doing this now. They latch onto the fact that there is weird stuff we do not understand properly (dark matter) and use this as an excuse to believe *anything* is possible from their book of fairy tales.

I am continually blown away by the nonsense of the supposedly great Christian apologist John Lennox (Prof of Maths at Oxford): ‘Jesus invented water in the first place. Maybe it’s not such a big deal that He could walk on it.’ Seriously, it is like reasoning with a child.

Faithproof Apologetics Sachin Jose So it is not a faith after all? It can be figured out? You guys are so disingenuous. One minute you say the natural man cannot understand the things of God, then claim a smart person can!

"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain." You must hold firm to the correct words, from the correct person, else you believe in vain.... and will burn in eternal hell fire.

50+ years ago this was the Christian God drilled into my youth. In his anger/wrath he will send the unforgiving to be tortured. Since then, most have adopted the C.S. Lewis idea that we choose hell and the doors are locked from inside. Christianity evolves. And always has done.

There is no way back to Christian belief for me. E.g. I am convinced angels are mythical. Vital parts of Christian belief (birth, resurrection, ascension) use angels in the story. So, I cannot believe the stories are true.
