Great question - this is exactly where the traditional definition of “close” is breaking. In a rolling model (AngelList, Carta, etc.), a “close” isn’t really about a hard stop anymore. It’s more about signal + narrative. For an emerging manager, I’d think about it this way:

I’d downplay early DPI pretty heavily. In newer vintages, the numbers are usually too small to mean much.
