A1: Amplify the voice of innovative students and staff. Notice those doing innovative things; providing them a platform to share. b) Giving permission for students and staff to think differently, and to act differently. Ask “How might we do this differently?” #OPCchat

Great start to the conversation with some interesting ideas. The next #OPCchat question is: Q2. Please share an innovative practice or idea you have used that may/or may not make use of technology.

A1: Innovation is a way of thinking. It is a way to tackle challenges when you are stuck. Using a design thinking process is great way to tackle issues in a school from dealing with lates, to reframing how we think about school improvement planning. #OPCchat

A3. Be open and curious about new ideas. Try an “Open Spaces Forum” during a PA day. Co-teach with a teacher exploring computational thinking with coding. Co-learn with a student trying to 3D print and design. Let students teach you and your staff about something. #OPCchat

A4. Empowering everyone to challenge the status quo by asking how might we do this differently? Foster a culture of creativity when you are open to new ideas, even if they challenge your thinking. Inviting students to a PLC to teach staff. #OPCchat
