1. My top imaging trick to trainees is that before they spend any time taking pictures of the data they just sit there for a while & look at the stuff. Like seriously, sit back, crank some tunes, get cozy & spend some quality time with your slides.

The MemBright PM stains set a high bar for specific membrane labeling. But if you care about the phototoxicity under time-lapse and SR imaging? Here we present a gentler palette -- PK Mem dyes. Tailored for live cell SIM/STED! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

I wish there were more hybrid conferences, i.e. an option to listen and watch remotely. Not everyone can travel. #AcademicTwitter

Do cancer cells 1) survive despite a hypoxic microenvironment or 2) thrive because of a hypoxic microenvironment? If 3) it depends, what are the critical determinants?🤔

Finalizing my poster for #WSPH2024. I will be presenting our findings on PDGF signaling in #PulmonaryHypertension (Abstract A52) on June 29th, in BASIC SCIENCE-2. PATHOBIOLOGY AND MECHANISMS OF DISEASE. Looking forward to meeting new people and ideas!

Taking a stroll around the beautiful city of Barcelona after #wsph2024. Learned a lot, met new people, discussed ideas, and scheduled further discussions. Overall, very satisfied.

Time to say goodbye to the beautiful city of Barcelona and head home. Twas nice coming back after my visit in 2013: beautiful views, kind people, nice food (always a plus) and the energy and diversity ever present. I hope to come again! (Btw, that's a statue of Columbus.)

What is the #fluorescent probe of choice for detection of #hypoxia in #3DCellCulture? Compatibility with fixation (4% PFA) would be preferred, but not strictly mandatory.

Attended the 40th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Drug Delivery System in Tsukuba. Gave two talks and received nice feedback, chatted w/collaborators and friends, and met new people. Heading home to rest🥱.

Maybe a silly Q: are cells able to sense #collagen fiber thickness? We know collagen fiber thickness is altered in various disease states, but apart from its effect on the mechanical characteristics of the tissue, can cells discriminate between thin vs. thick fibrils? If so, how?
