I wasn't expecting anything special from this one, but I was very pleasantly surprised by it. As for the plot, imagine if James Bond had retired, become a hitman for a crime family, and then, when that family is taken out, goes on a revenge killing spree, and you get the drift.

What can I say, I loved this, not a word spoken, and yet it tells its story perfectly. Director John Woo, indulges every one of his best traits, and serves up a smorgasbord of violence and action. Not his best work, but bloody good.

I had high hopes for this, but the show didn't really give me what I wanted. One of the characters is way too much of a girl boss, but my real complaint is that everything is so gloomily lit, to the point where you can barely see whats happening sometimes. Bit of a let down.

I thought this was going to be just another Liam Neeson action film, only worth seeing because of him. What I got was a well made and paced drama, that gripped me from the word go, with a first rate cast who are all on great form. I loved it.

While it brought nothing new to the table, and didn't do that well at the box office back in 1991, I quite enjoyed watching this last night. Kathleen Turner holds it all together, everyone else is kind of just forgettable, but if you want a dumb fun movie, you could do worse.

You have got to be fucking kidding.

Well this was.....bollocks. A mundane story, that, despite being wrapped up in an interesting concept, goes nowhere and has absolutely nothing to say. It is dull to the Nth degree, if you have only one single brain cell, this film will bore it to death.

I had forgotten just how good this was, it's a rock solid thriller, that has a grip like a vice. Pierce Brosnan and Gerard Butler are on top form, holding everything together, as the plot twists and turns, on its way to a surprise ending.

Some films are called a classic and don't deserve that title, or the test of time ages them out of being worthy of it, but not this one. Fargo is still a razor sharp crime drama, with a delicious streak dark humour, bursts of violence and knockout performances from a great cast.

This is about as close to cinematic perfection as you will get, a first rate cast, expertly directed, a rapier sharp script, exceptional pacing, this film has everything. It is aging like the finest wine, and gets better every time I watch it.

I will admit this is very formulaic, there is nothing on view here that you have not seen before, but it does do a solid job with the story it has to tell, and what it has to work with. Don't set your sights too high and this will entertain you for 110 minutes.

This always was, and still is, an Indiana Jones wannabe, but I have to admit, it does carry its age quite well. It has a certain charm about it, Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong work well together, and it has weirdly, improved with age, which is not what I expected.

Take an irritating girl boss, cgi overload (which looks like dogshit btw) waste a talented cast on a low rent script, and a brain dead story. Mix it all together in a colour pallet that looks like a drunk threw up in a kebab shop, and what you get is this ugly, turd of a film.

Despite its pacing problems, flashback episodes that add next to nothing, and a habit of not divulging its secrets, I was still drawn into the story rewatching this first season. It intrigues the viewer with mystery's you want to solve, even if it wont. Shame S2 was a hot mess.

This show is like watching paint dry, very boring paint, endless dialogue, punctuated by intense stares, then more talk and more stares. It looks amazing and is well acted, but the script and story are garbage, I don't even know if I will watch the final 2 episodes, its that bad.

Finally something good to watch.

The Minister for Infanticide

Nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is, but not as bad as some would have you believe. It holds your attention while your watching it, and is quite intriguing at first, before you work out what's actually going on. It hits the target, but nowhere near the bullseye.

Somewhere in this mixed bag of concepts, all of which struggle for attention, there is a half way decent film, but no one and nothing is able to bring any of them to fulfillment. Its messy, unfocused, over long and full of off key, off putting performances.
