When approaching a table or chart on the USMLE, try & focus on two things: 1. The headings/axises 2. The trend of the data Consistently employing these two strategies can help enhance your speed & mastery of drug ad or chart-based questions!

I was recently asked on a panel ‘how to learn effectively in med school…’ Though there are many strategies, I’ve found taking newly learned content and intentionally linking it to prior schemas or mental models can enhance the ability to aggregate knowledge & make learning fun.

When answering a USMLE question, focus on each sentence and how it relates to the chief complaint. After every sentence, pause & 'ask yourself,' what is the working diagnosis? As you accrue data, keep centering yourself on the first sentence.
