Before studying al Hidāyah, students should study 3 books in fiqh, 2 books in uṣūl al fiqh, and at least one book in qawāʿid fiqhīyyah. By doing this, the brilliance of al Hidāyah will become clear. Otherwise, it just appears as a normal book of fiqh.
