Night time at the changing tides garden at @the_rhs @rhschelsea flower show. A beautiful design and execution from @la_la_landscape_design for @mgrllp_

The lighting used is dark skies friendly - downward facing in 1800K.

Well deserved Gold for the garden too!

I recently came back from Holiday in Florida. While on the Gulf coast, the area in which my hotel was in had strict lighting controls in place with the walk ways outside the hotels and the hotels themselves utilising 1800K lighting.

Why? Well because there are nesting turtles

Red lighting and night vision - if lighting is a must, red would be best. It's being trialed up and down the country. Unlikely that you'll get your client to specify it though

Let's look at 1800K. Notably from Cree, the peak wavelength doesn't have a big portion below 550nm while 3000K has a huge portion before 550. The goal is to have our peak higher than 550nm to be as wildlife-friendly as possible.
