... just over four years ago, it took me weeks to complete a 2-qubit VQE with only 6 parameters. Today, I’m working with quantum samples from circuits containing thousands of gates. This makes me feel old but also optimistic about the future of these machines 🤓

Pretty sure I am the no.2 fan of Christina Aguilera on Spotify, 2nd only to my wife, because our older daughter is obsessed with Mulan. She can only fall asleep with selected Mulan soundtracks. She would wake up if a non-Mulan song plays, when we forget to play the playlist in a loop 😅

Share our new work on a topological theory of qLDPC codes: scirate.com/arxiv/2501.193… We've now achieved our vision of more than a year ago: find native non-Clifford gates on a qLDPC code with constant rate, constant stabilizer weight, and sqrt(N) distance.

The quantum optimization working group latest results arxiv.org/pdf/2504.03832 and library (git.zib.de/qopt/qoblib-qu…) introduces 10 optimization problems that are challenging for classical STOA - these can be used as a benchmark and track the progress towards quantum advantage.
