In May, WFP reached nearly 750,000 girls and boys in schools across #Afghanistan with nutritious daily snacks that help them stay active and learn better. Thank you to our generous partners like EUinAfghanistan 🇪🇺who make this happen! #WorldNutritionDay

The #EU🇪🇺 is allocating an additional EUR 10 million to World Food Programme for school feeding activities in #Afghanistan, enabling WFP in Afghanistan to reach nearly 2 millions school children in over 10,000 schools across the country to help them learn better. More ➡️ shorturl.at/1Sf2f

In Kabul #Afghanistan I saw with my own eyes the immense humanitarian needs. The EU 🇪🇺 stands by the resilient Afghan people. We have put into effect a robust humanitarian programme, and we are present on the ground. EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 EUinAfghanistan 🇪🇺

In #Afghanistan, food insecurity is one of the toughest challenges. I visited the WFP-run distribution centre in Alokhil in the outskirts of Kabul. The EU 🇪🇺 is putting forward €24 million this year to support World Food Programme actions in this crucial area. EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 EUinAfghanistan

We were pleased to host EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 director Andreas Papaconstantinou in one of our cash assistance distribution sites in #Afghanistan. This support is crucial for families to meet their essential needs. Thank you, ECHO, for your continued partnership and commitment to Afghan communities.

Providing livelihood opportunities for women in #Afghanistan goes beyond earning a living and feeding their children. Our country director Hsiao-Wei Lee explains why:

The UK remains committed to supporting the people of Afghanistan. This funding to the World Food Programme will help more than one million people with vital emergency food and nutrition assistance, as well as helping build the resilience of vulnerable communities.

We are alarmed by #Afghanistan ranking globally number four with people experiencing severe acute food insecurity. The EU🇪🇺allocated EUR 44 M to our humanitarian partners on food and nutrition projects, including EUR 25 M World Food Programme. EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺
