This morning KS2 joined in the ‘Switched On live assembly’ by National Rail where we discussed how to keep safe around railways.

F2 enjoyed looking at each other’s books this afternoon. They looked at their own and then swapped with a friend. Most of them said they wouldn’t have chosen their friends book but enjoyed looking at it. Opening their eyes to books 📚 #SIRHHT

Today, for World Poetry Day, Year 6 collectively gathered ideas to create a year group poem all about peace and inclusivity at HHT #SIRHHT

Year 6 attended a workshop this afternoon working with Geologise theatre company. They created some amazing songs and performances all about climate change.

Here are some snippets of the songs our Year 6 pupils created all about the characters, who have been affected by climate change. They did a fantastic job!

Year 6 had a lovely start to the morning. We watched a small scale theatre production full of exciting acting and songs to teach us about climate change and most importantly how we can make a difference.

The amazing author and illustrator James Warwood has been at our school today delivering inspiring illustration workshops across school. Year 3 and 4 have been exploring how different shapes are used to create different connections between the reader and character.

We are looking for more loose parts to add to our playtimes, such as: tyres, wooden planks, milk crates, cable reels, wooden pallets etc. Our children love building structures and obstacle courses! Any donations are hugely appreciated. Thank you!

This term’s English book for Y1 was ‘Snail and the Whale’ and they loved it! Here is a sample of some of their beautiful information leaflets all about humpback whales. They should be very proud of their writing!

Y1 had a fantastic time at the sports festival ran by Edsential. We loved trying out different games, particularly dodgeball!

Miss Birch’s class enjoyed a trip to the park to do some Easter activities. Egg rolling was a firm favourite! Well done F1! 😁🐣
