John Houchin has had a crazy run to PGA Tour Q-School final stage: • He's one of 11 guys who started at pre-qualifying • At first stage, he shot 8-under 64 in final round to advance by 1 shot • He got through second stage by 1 shot, too, though he shot 66-76 on the weekend

Houchin was a JUCO All-American at Eastern Florida, then played 2 seasons for Stetson Golf, graduating this past summer. He never was ranked better than No. 1,010 in WAGR. Never won a college tournament. Yet, Stetson coach Danny Forshey knew Houchin could play pro golf.
