Lex voted for the 1st time! I’m so happy for/proud of her. A vol asked me if it was her 1st time & when I said it was, she made a proclamation & everyone stood & cheered. It was slow, only 7 people, but I love that they celebrated her decision to participate. She won’t forget it.

Sunday night vibes.

Down to just days that we’ll all be here together in the same house for a while. This might be our last summer all living together since Aiden has an apt at school now. It’s one of the things we work for as parents but that doesn’t make it any easier. Soaking up these moments.

I’m so happy to be at Greenbrier. I’ve been a proud Charlottesville City Schools mom for six years and feel fortunate to be working for a school system that gave so much to my kids.

Before a trip, for what felt like weeks, a young Alexa would ask: how many more sleeps mama? That little girl grew into a woman I am not only proud of, but inspired by. 18 more sleeps until she leaves for William and Mary. Who’s counting now?

My boy, uh I mean man, turned 20 today. Time is a fickle beast. Both of these kids will be off to college in a week. Super thankful I get to be their mom. Hard to believe G is going to be an only child (still at home) soon. Am I ready?

Thank you to all of my educator friends/family. You’re so important to our youth & if you ever don’t feel appreciated may this remind you that you are. Hope you all have a great year. *I met a little lady today who’s about to have Mrs. Hathaway. I told her my daughter loved her!

I was fine with our drop off at William & Mary until students in neon shirts repeatedly yelled at my daughter, while taunting me, “WELCOME HOME!” Apparently shedding a few (I swear it was like 3) tears in the registration line is unacceptable so I quickly composed myself.

I hope so for him, UVA and the GBP! So stoked to get to keep cheering him on weekly.

I have this thing where when I meet someone, I think if I’d drink a beer with them. The older I get the less beers I think I’m going to drink.

Not the end result we wanted but lots of feelings were felt and lots of cheering was done. *I may not have a voice for days.
