@honorandprofit

My goal is to start a non-profit. I nearly died as a child, know what it means to suffer, and want to help others.
I've got a long way yet to go on this path.

In the last year, rents are up 12%. Home prices are up 23%. It's not the 25-cent burger price increases that are killing people. It's that 40% of their income is now going to a private equity landlord and they have no shot at saving up for a house to build wealth.

AT&T lobbied hard for Trump's tax cuts and got $21 billion to "create tens of thousands of jobs." Then it cut 42,000 jobs, gave investors $44 billion in dividends and gave its ex-CEO a $64 million pension. All the while, it provided 90% of OAN's revenue reuters.com/investigates/s…

Y’all already did over a month ago despite everyone having data that ending UI doesn’t push people back to work. Conservatives love to act like they’re “fiscally savvy” yet remain puzzled as to why people can’t work a job whose pay won’t even cover the childcare costs to work 🤡

Thing is, we could enforce existing laws on the 1% and raise $163 billion a year. Just enforce the laws as we do with everyone else and we could pay for all kinds of stuff. But that's a non-starter in DC, even among the "law and order" set. Wonder why. nytimes.com/2021/09/08/bus…

A home makes up 62% of the average middle-class family's wealth. Every year they're taxed on that asset's unrealized gains via property tax. Billionaires' wealth is in stocks. They borrow against the value at near 0% rates and aren't taxed. Tax rate Billionaires: 8% You: 14%

$1.9 trillion in tax cuts for the rich: "it will stimulate the economy" $3.5 trillion on social programs: "those are handouts to people that we simply cannot afford"

Why don't we call CRT what it is: American History, unedited, unredacted, unvarnished, and truthful, blemishes and all. If we don't understand how we got here, we'll be stuck in a false narrative forever.

1923: Hitler’s failed coup. No real consequences. No fundamental changes. 1933: Hitler takes power. Folks, this is not complicated. Without accountability, the next coup will succeed.

Recall that Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy cost us ~$3T which did not return on the investment and just added to the national debt. But when we’re discussing investing tax $ back into actual people & communities, suddenly $3T is an inconceivable number. See how that works?//

Billionaires in this country have gotten $1.8 trillion richer during the pandemic, so far. And they're not going to stop climate change because they're going to use it as an opportunity to transfer wealth to the top, again, unless we stop them.

"My salary is private - I don't discuss that" The single best way to get a raise is to have data showing your colleagues who do the same job make more. Keeping pay info secret is a long-time scam perpetrated by companies to help them and hurt you. Please don't fall for it.

Our company pays a min wage of $70k and has paid parental leave, full benefits, paid time off, and allows people to work remotely. We received 25,400 applications this year for 72 jobs. There's no labor shortage. There's a shortage of jobs that treat people with respect.
