To be honest, I can see how topical preaching could be helpful in a handful of situations, but there’s no reason not to preach expositionally through the Scriptures 99% of the time.

Discernment, put simply, is a maturing in our way of thinking about daily occurrences in biblical ways. A renewing out of mind, via the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Choosing the way of Christ over the way of sin.

We need to talk more about how many great pastors there are out there. Dudes that have a shepherds hearts, a love for the Lord and a generosity that goes above and beyond.

This is misleading because Aquinas viewed Islam as containing significant doctrinal errors, such as the Trinity/divinity of Christ. He argued that while Muslims acknowledge the existence of the one true God as Creator, their errors places them outside the means of salvation.

This argument is an interesting one, but ultimately, it is disingenuous. Yes, a believer’s faith is rooted in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, but it doesn’t stop there. It has downstream implications for one’s life.

If you didn’t pray for your pastor before Church make time to pray for them after Church. They have likely studied all week, prayed all week, and had you in mind all week as they prepared their sermon.

One of the great things about having an elder team made up of men from each generation is that you have both a variety of viewpoints and years of experience in handling both old and new issues.
