What a great first week back at Holmes Middle School! We began by tackling The Airplane Riddle then reflected on which math practice standards were evident in our work. There were many, but we agreed perseverance was key! #happynest

After coming to consensus on what makes us happy when working in groups, groups took on the challenge of The Unstoppable Blob. Although many students have chosen to continue their work over the weekend, they're off to a great start! #happynest

Week 1 of Math Boot Camp concluded on Friday with students presenting an analysis of the data collected from their surveys. Many students became fans of box plots, but more than anything, they enjoyed learning together! Looking forward to week 2 on probability! #21learns

Our 8th grade class is in the middle of a competitive game of Connect 4. Can't wait to see if we have a winner tomorrow!

We had a little leftover time after state testing today and I love the class portrait drawn by Krystal and Morgan! If you look closely, they even included my HMS spirit wear. Week 1 done!

Our 7th grade accelerated math class is off to a great start deciphering and extending patterns as well as writing expressions to model the patterns. We're loving our new @desmosclassroom Algebra 1 program. #happynest #21learns
