#WritingCommunity when you put down your pen (or shut your laptop), is it because you have other responsibilities calling you (kids, work, sleep etc.) or because you have decided it’s time to stop? If the latter - how do you know it’s time to quit for the day?

Couldn’t agree more. Brains work differently. Mine needs the odd hearty dose of non-productivity to create space for ideas to bloom. A palate cleanser, if you will.

My husband does this. Mind-blowing. Meanwhile 95% of my plotting and panicking gets done between the hours of midnight and 3am.

Novelists, I’m curious to hear what your creative life looks like right after you finish working on a novel. Are you already working on (or diving straight into) the next project by then? Or do you need time & space to breathe (and even grieve) before you can move on?

Took me a while to get into this, but I’m so glad I persevered. A beautiful study on sisterhood. Doing well for 5* reads this year.

Just did our online grocery shop. One of those weeks where we needed to stock up on toilet rolls AND washing powder AND THEN buy Easter eggs. We are now remortgaging the house.
