There is an unwritten agreement between NHS and Drs. If Drs staff the soul-crushing on calls in horrible DGHs (enforced via rotations) they will get career progression and training. MAPs seem to circumvent this. That's why the anger is so deep-seated and not going anywhere.

If you “supervise” PAs and something goes wrong, and you end up in trouble with your employer, or worse, the GMC, then one of the first people you’ll call are the BMA. That’s why their guidance on scope of practice is critical.
