During the pandemic I decided to 'think beyond the plant' and learn some soil physics: "Emergence of a maximum soil flux under drought governs stomatal responsiveness to vapor pressure deficit over sub-daily and daily timescales." It is up on bioRxiv: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
