120 years of history. This is us, these are our predecessors and this is the legacy that we continue to create with all the amazing things you do. Please work with Carrie to secure our place.
Good luck to all marching today, especially the RN and RM party including Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service personnel. The hard work is done, enjoy the day!

It’s with immense pride we share that our Trg SNCO FS Wiejak has received the ARRC in this years Birthday Honours. Awarded for her leadership of the Defence Nurse detachment at QVH during COVID-19.
An honour to attend the ceremony yesterday and meet with the graduating class and their families. The future of Defence nursing is in very capable hands.
Congratulations, enjoy your day, you’ve earned it! We look forward to welcoming you properly to QARNNS and working together to develop the nursing capability needed to support Defence in this challenging operational environment
Congratulations Mark, preparing for the challenge of providing medical support in the complex operational environment needs novel solutions. These partnerships are essential to support capability development and it is great to see them recognised. Good luck.
Congratulations Sandi, looking forward to working with you as we develop the vital role that the RN Reserve has supporting nursing operational capability in an era of constant competition.
Sep 1945: following the Japanese surrender QARNNS and VAD personnel deployed on board HMS Vengeance to support POWs and internees; one of these being Miss Olga Franklin a Naval Nurse who had been held in an internment camp in Hong Kong.
Fantastic to spend the morning with graduating nurses of the Transition to Military Practice course. Enthusiastic, skilled and ready to face the challenges of caring for patients in an unstable world.
Looking after our own and our people’s mental health is vital. Fantastic to see QARNNS informing and inspiring; we must all be responsible for ensuring we support each other and promote well being.
Congratulations to you all and so well deserved. Our senior rates provide so much in terms of expertise and example. I look forward to see where your careers take you now.
Honoured to have attended the graduation ceremony for our newest nurses and ODPs. Amazing to hear about their academic journey and sense the excitement about their career to come. Sharing it with families made the day even more special. What a start to 2024!
33 years ago today I walked through these gates as a Probationary Student Nurse; today I have the privilege of being Head of the Naval Nursing Service. I’ve worked with amazing people, but today the shout out goes to the only other member of DNC4 left standing, Cdr Andy Clarkson.
Thank you Mark for all you have done. From first meeting you as a student nurse to seeing you operate at the very boundaries of practice. It’s been a pleasure sharing your journey. Fair winds, don’t be a stranger.
What a fantastic week. Celebrating all nurses at the Florence Nightingale service on Wednesday, then joining our ED and CC nurses on Friday at the culmination of their joint CPD event. Past, present and future, QARNNS are ready!
