In the 70's Phil did a daily show on CBS Radio. I was his engineer. A great guy. He always brought a box of cannolis for the studio crew :)

Bonnie and I are saddened by the passing of my friend and former colleague Greg Gumble. He was a great partner in the big days of CBSRADIO sports. He was a dear friend, always kind to my family and a tremendous talent. May the Good Lord welcome Greg with open arms. God Bless you.

OMG. I was his CBS Radio engineer (and Jim's too) a million times. Including his postgame Super Bowl XXV interview with Bill Parcells. A friend you could have a beer and a laugh with anytime. Very sad news. RIP buddy.

R.I.P. Jimmy Carter. His live telephone call-in program, "Ask President Carter" was on CBS Radio. And I was one of the broadcasts' engineers. He went live, saying "People may say rude things to the POTUS but they won't say rude things to our host Walter Cronkite".

By far the best (non political) commentary on the catastrophic Los Angeles fires has been this one by Keith Morrison for Dateline NBC Keith Morrison is one of the last remaining pros in TV news…

I was the CBS Radio engineer at Super Bowl XXV in Tampa. Giants/Bills. All analog! IDB satellite uplink. "Wide right" Buck, Stram & Gumbel. Desert Storm. Swat teams on the stadium roof. I mixed Whitney Houston's national anthem. And 48 million listeners :)

MLB As the CBS Radio engineer, I met Oh at the 1991 All Star game in Wrigley Field. Johnny Bench interviewed him - in Japanese!

Tsundoku (積ん読) is a Japanese word referring to the practice of buying books and letting them pile up unread. But it's not something negative. It's more about an untold story waiting to be discovered. The thrill of a crisp, untouched spine. The joy of a rare find.

'Good Night and good luck' coming up soon. Mort Dank was Murrow's editor in the 40's & 50's. I worked with him in the 70's. And I was Edwards & Cronkite's audio engineer during Watergate too.
