There’s a whole wild world all around us. And by adjusting our behaviors, even slightly, we can make life a bit easier for these animals, not just pigeons but native waterfowl, migratory songbirds, raptors and more. We also just really love pigeons. Happy #freebirdfriday!

This is probably the most astonishing rainfall data I’ve ever had my hands on. Turis, Valencia, Spain, found itself in the absolute worst of last week’s extreme rain event. The town ended up with a mind-boggling 771.8 mm (30.4 inches) of rainfall over the course of 24 hours.

The results are in... Jade (1204) is a female! This is great news for the central CA flock as a whole as males currently outnumber females 1.5 to 1. We aren't sure why this has occurred, but we are very happy to have one more confirmed female! Photo courtesy of Tim Huntington
