A big well done to our 34 Y10 French & Spanish students taking part in this year's Project Polyglot. They recently went into local primary schools to teach the lessons they had worked very hard to prepare. Fantastic to see so much enjoyment from the pupils and students alike.

We welcomed back Maralyn Turgel, whose father was the only one of her family to survive the Holocaust, to talk to Y9s about his experiences. The details & personal stories brought home the realities of the genocide. Thank you for the educational and affecting talk. Generation 2 Generation

SEED APPEAL: Now that it's starting to feel slightly springlike, Eco Club are asking for donations of any unwanted flower/vegetable seeds that are going out of date this year. If students have any at home they are asked to bring them to the Woodside reception office. Thank you!

Basil (our Classics mascot which travels everywhere with the department) was very excited to accompany A Level Classical Civilisations students on their trip to see Aristophanes' Frogs at The Bloomsbury Theatre. They had front-row seats for this excellent university production🐸

Congratulations to Elly in Year 7, who took part in this year's National Piano Competition in the post-grade 8 under-12s category. Although she didn't go through to the final round, her performance was recognised with a distinction. Very well done!

Fantastic job by those students who were selected for and participated in the district swim gala on Friday night in Watford as part of the North Herts team. Millie won gold in 50m freestyle and Lily won bronze as part of the 4x50m freestyle relay!

Our World Book Day cake sale last week was very popular, with the queue going down the main stairs at one point and our student helpers kept busy selling all the lovely cakes and bakes! Thank you to everyone who baked for the sale and supported it on the day. #WorldBookDay
