August 1919: Sister E. G. Lee, from Leicestershire, started a campaign: British War Medal to be awarded to Nurses who had served on Hospital Ships in WW1. Rare papers in our collection - ultimately a successful campaign. W.O. AG10 and approved by “higher authority” - Churchill?

I became attached to the Duke of Monmouth doing my A levels in the late 60s and he’s been with me ever since. It seemed fitting that I should buy this brilliant book in Lyme Regis TIC the place where his invasion started in June 1685. mark turnbull

One of the greatest signs I've come across on the Birmingham to Stoke Prior (Bromsgrove) walk has to be to The Crown Pub at Alvechurch. After 4+ hours walk this was a pure delight - great pub!
