my favorite class of the semester is bring your own artist (BYOA) for recreation -- I get so inspired seeing the different voices people bring into the room.

it's also a reminder about serendipity, that finding an artist book in the bookstore or a paper that uses new terms can open up doors. the class is about the techniques of recreation and that act of looking, but also about being open to moments of serendipity with art.
