Today was the Battle of Waterloo’s anniversary, so of course I ran into one of 2022’s lovely Waterloo Uncovered participants and his fluffy Junior while digging with Time Team! Also shown here surveying the battlefield nearly a year ago now (somehow…). Clearly meant to be! 🐶

Spent the day surveying field systems with Milo Thatch, a cross between Gandalf and Indiana Jones, and some sort of Ewok. Bloody archaeologists.

Did a woodland survey this afternoon. Got very excited about industrial earthworks not mentioned in records found so far. One thing led to another, and I have just been in a 2-hour rabbit hole about the archaeology of gunpowder mills. And thus another niche obsession begins. 🙈
