When you see a shrouded body being lowered into the grave, what exactly do you see? A wise person sees himself/herself being lowered into the grave. The only thing separating you from that reality is just time. Soon, our time will come. Allahuma ini as'aluka husni khaatimah.

It's one to thing to hear that someone died; It's another thing to see someone die; It's another thing to see someone being lowered into the grave; Each of these hits differently. If you have a heart of stone, seeing a body being lowered in the grave will break you.

Everything about Islam is humbling. Is it the salah, The fasting The zakaah The hajj Eating etiquettes Sleeping etiquettes The shariʹah? Name it. We see ourselves as nothing but servants of Allah عزوجل . Total submission to Allah in humility.
