We believe that early reading is fundamental to developing critical listening and thinking skills, as well as a love of books. This week’s story was “once there was a seed,” which teaches the children how seeds develop into flowers and helps foster an appreciation of nature!

The classroom is important, but there’s also a lot to be learned out in the world. Students are looking forward to some great trips we’ve prepared to help develop learning, including to places like the Eden Project and the Soapbox Theatre run by Stiltskin Theatre Co!

The weather was beautiful for our recent year 2 trip to the Mayflower Steps and Plymouth Hoe, where we discussed whether Francis Drake was a pirate or a pioneer? Questions like this are how we encourage students to think critically about history and is what makes learning fun!

Our Year 5s have continued their lessons on ‘working scientifically’, with new focus on the scientific skill of prediction. Plus, a new science club is in the works at our school. Our staff work hard every day to help your children develop an early interest in science!
