Gerry H hits walk off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7th to give JV baseball a 6-5 win over Hale Ray. Gerry also picked up the pitching win in relief of Aaron C. That’s the 1st time in Highlander JV baseball history that a frosh had a win and a walk off in the same game.

Highlanders get their first win of the young season. Take down OS 8-4 behind 5 strong innings from Spencer R. Allen C does work with both the glove and the bat in the home opener. Ryan L pitched out of bases loaded jam in 7th for the save.

I almost forgot to mention the delightful New England weather today.

Highlander bats are quieted. Drop Good Friday contest to the Blue Devils 9-3 to fall to 1-2 on the season. The Highlander host Westbrook on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

Season opener today for the Highlanders. Hale Ray provides the opposition. First pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Josh H. Takes the ball.

Highlanders win season opener 10-2 over the Hale Ray Noises. Josh H gets the win going 5 strong. Duff Dickson has a double and two singles to lead the offense.

Josh H powers Highlanders past Putnam with a pair of home runs, a double and a single. Aaron C starts and picks up the win in a 12-6 Portland victory.

Freshmen Cody B and Connor D combine to pitch 4 and 2 thirds solid innings to start game. Gerry H finishes on the mound to get the win as Portland scores 2 in the bottom of the 6th to beat Old Saybrook 7-5. Josh H and Ryan L pace the bats (again).

Through 10 games, Josh H is posting some eye-popping stats. He is hitting .548 with 3 doubles, 3 triples and 3 home runs. He has scored 14 runs and has 14 RBI. Josh and the Highlanders return to the diamond today with a game at Hale Ray. First pitch is scheduled for 3:45.

Bryce W had 3 hits and 2 RBI and Ryan L had 2 hits, including a double, and 3 RBI to lead the Highlanders to a 12-0 win at Hale Ray today. Josh H pitched 5 innings to pick up the win.

Highlanders (out of nowhere) score 9 runs in the 6th to erase a six run deficit and defeat OS 9-6. Joe A picked up the win and Gerry H the save.

These guys all had at least 2 hits today. For those keeping score at home that is Josh and Ryan in the middle.

The Highlanders held off Middletown tonight at Palmer Field 4-3. Freshman Connor D was outstanding in pitching 6 and two thirds in his second varsity start. Gerry H got the final out with the bases loaded. Gerry and Josh H had 2 hits apiece for Portland.
