It’s currently the month of Welehu (Nov. 2–Dec. 1, 2024), the first month of Hoʻoilo (the wet season). During this time, Makahiki, the four-month-long festival dedicated to the god Lono, has begun. ʻŌpelu and akule fishing take place, and Makaliʻi is visible in the night sky.
