Today the children in Year 2 were detectives and used a range of sources to make predictions about an important event which happened in Hucknall 70 years ago… The first vertical take off! We are so lucky to be linked with a fantastic community history ✈️

Our Year 1 Historians interviewed adults around school about their time at school to find out what has changed. They used photographs of the teachers when they were at school to launch an exciting information gathering afternoon 📷🪁 #community #worth

In RE this term, the Year 1 children have been learning about parables from the bible. They explored the key messages of kindness, inclusivity and understanding and put this into practice by visiting Harrier House, our local care home and sharing books with the residents📚🏡

Year 2 have been celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year by learning about the great race and the year of the dragon. The children used the Mandarin alphabet to make their own bookmarks with their names on 🐉🇨🇳

KS1 kicked off science week with a visit from ‘Silly Science’ this morning and LOVED it! 🧪💥

Our Year 2 artists have been exploring the work of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. They have created their own bold pieces of art using acrylic paint and used pens to outline in the same style. They added 3D planes to make their art come to life! ✈️ 🖌️
