Today the children in Year 2 were detectives and used a range of sources to make predictions about an important event which happened in Hucknall 70 years ago… The first vertical take off! We are so lucky to be linked with a fantastic community history ✈️

In RE this term, the Year 1 children have been learning about parables from the bible. They explored the key messages of kindness, inclusivity and understanding and put this into practice by visiting Harrier House, our local care home and sharing books with the residents📚🏡

Our Year 2 artists have been exploring the work of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. They have created their own bold pieces of art using acrylic paint and used pens to outline in the same style. They added 3D planes to make their art come to life! ✈️ 🖌️

Hey Darrell Wakelam. Thank you for the workshop to inspire our most recent art project in year 2! We used your techniques to show the changes in fire safety since the Great Fire of London in 1666. Can you spot your folding window technique?! We hope you like our final outcome.
