Ready for Day 1 of the Midwives Saves Lives Program! We are here in Sumpango with 16 local midwives. Many educational presentations to come with important information about women’s health.

Dr. Kathy Chacon educated the midwives and volunteers about risk assessment, complications with pregnancy and menstruation. Midwives from three different villages are attending.

Day 2 of the Midwives Save Lives program! Today on the schedule included workshops on domestic violence, mental health, and maternal-fetal nutrition.

Later, we introduced the Maternal-Child Nutrition Sponsorship. Each midwife brought a pregnant mother with her. We explained how we will provide vitamin shakes monthly during their pregnancy and breastfeeding duration. After 6 months, the infant will also be supplemented.

Finally, the midwives were shown the midwives equipment kits. The kids included many necessary items based on their needs such as, a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, fetal fetoscope, bulb syringe, scissors, adult scale, baby scale, headlamp, measuring tape, etc. #midwifesupport
