SO many year 11 students are knuckling down in the moments that truly count. These last handful of hours in class are vital. We are very proud of those who are locking in! Special shout out to Lexi B, Alex KE, Sylvie S and Anyah C (11p3) who graft every single lesson. ๐Ÿ’ช #GCSEEng

So close to the exams, students often think of characters and if they can think of quotations then they think they're safe BUT I encourage the following: overview, traits, quotations, their role/function, themes linked and character development.๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ญ #AIC #AQALIT #englishlit

As Y9 are SO engrossed in The Great Gatsby, I took the opportunity to introduce them to the notion of a dramatic vehicle/symbolism: encouraging that, actually, this is not a novella of drama - rather a nod to much bigger societal issues perpetuated through patriarchal capitalism.

7q1 finished 'Resist' today! Some lovely reflections to finish. This text worked so well alongside our scheme of work, reading for pleasure and drawing links to our learning scheme as we went... Fabulous! ๐Ÿ™ #youngreaders
