Ryan Gainer was 15, had autism, and was shot and killed by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department because he was holding a garden tool. Murdering a 15 year old autistic Black boy, experiencing a crisis, is enraging and another example of a rotten system that must be dismantled.

Every “WIC approved” baby food brand is listed on the 2021 Toxic Baby Food Congressional Report. These brands contain high levels of arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury. So yeah, save WIC but also REFORM WIC. Relying on government assistance shouldn’t mean consuming unsafe foods.

New law signed: Medicaid now covers doula services for New Yorkers. There will be a statewide directory of doulas as well. This legislation was introduced by Sen. Brouk due to high maternal mortality rates, especially among Black women.
