Miss Serra’s class saw the sun and decided that it was a great day to do an outdoor task-card scavenger hunt! Students joyfully moved around the playground finding 20 different fraction models and identifying the numerators and denominators on a recording sheet.

Tomorrow starts Kindness Spirit Week!

Students wrote messages of gratitude in their Valentines for Veterans. Councilwoman Melissa Miller and Kate Murray, Town Clerk of the Town of Hempstead, visited HES today to collect the Valentine’s Day cards. The cards will be distributed to local Veterans organizations.❤️🇺🇸

We are so proud of both Owen and Ayaan! They wrote personal narratives that were chosen as 5th grade winners among many entries to the Nassau Reading Council’s 2025 Young Authors’ Contest. They will be celebrated along with the other K-12 winners at a ceremony on April 28th.
