P7 took their maths outside for #NationalNumeracyDay. We coded the Micro:bits to be distance calculators and used the information to work out the area of different parts of the playground.

When you can't get to the woods, you bring the woods to the playground. Working on their bushcraft skills, P3 were whittling and knot tying today. They also became "Energy Detectives" looking for different forms of energy with some fab discussions!

As part of our I.D.L learning on Space 🚀 P5A experimented with a tasty way to visually represent the different phases of the moon 🌑 🌒 🌙 Happy faces (and crumby mouths) all round!

A great effort from all P7 pupils at the cross country event today. A special well done to these pupils for bringing home the gold in both the boys and girls team events, as well as individual gold and bronze for the girls!

P7 arrived safely at Lockerbie Manor and got straight in to activities.

P5 had a great morning tuning in to #authorslive from #scottishbooktrust to meet author Jamie Smart, author of the Bunny vs. Monkey series of books. We learned all about his style of illustration and where he gets his ideas from. 🐰 🐵

P6 had a very informative and important fire safety talk from our local team at the Scottish fire and rescue service. We spoke about keeping ourselves safe with electrical devices, fire hazards in the home and even had a chance to visit the fire truck. Thank you so much @Scotfire_EWDAB

As part of our learning on #SDG11 - sustainable cities & communites, P7 used the Microbits to measure the temperatures of different surface areas of the playground in yesterday's sun. We found that natural materials were several degrees cooler than man-made items!

Lucky P5 had the opportunity to experiment with one of our new STEM resources this afternoon. We loved using the Sphero Mini’s and learning about how to use coding!
