Dr. Sushil Chandra Baral, Managing Director of HERD International Nepal, shared key findings on the complexities of healthcare in urban areas, noting the lack of adequate and adaptable policies and the insufficient infrastructure needed to meet the growing demands of urban populations.

To achieve #UHC , we must rethink financing with equity at the forefront. Higher-income groups should pay more, while lower-income groups pay less or none. It’s not just about access but ensuring sustainable, equitable outcomes for all. #HealthEquity Ghanshyam

Health insurance scheme have some design faults in Nepal. It should be re-designed to protect the citizen in critical health condition which is absent in the current policy- Ghanshyam highlights need for revampification in social protection schemes to address inequity.
