On this day in 1953, US President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered his historic 'Atoms for Peace' speech at the United Nations General Assembly in NYC. This speech paved the way for the creation of the IAEA in 1957, championing nuclear science & tech for peace & development around the globe.
