The long and early heatwave on Finland was too much for elderly Reiska. He lived almost two year's in Juha's backyard without the company of his conspecifics sharing the chicken coop with poultry.

It is interesting that this is happening, usually wild type mice are pretty refractory to influenza virus infection. It may be worth looking into rats in dairy farms or places with large bird die-offs.
