Elseworld of the Week [#3] "DCeased" John was a major character in this universe set in an alternate Earth, where most of its inhabitants where infected with a zombie-like virus. He becomes the most powerful magic being on Earth at one point.

Issue of the Day [9/27] #23: "Larger Than Life" John returns from Scotland to meet his friend Jerry, just to find that the city of Northampton is under attack by fictional characters.

Issue of the Day [9/29] #126: "How to Play with Fire (Part 2) Fanning the Flames" John's family is having visions of his father in hell while Ellie tricks Dani into believing that she's being cheated on, deteriorating his life more and more.

Issue of the Day [9/30] Annual #2: "Suicide Bridge" A dying woman's last wish was to know the truth about her son's disappearance. Little did we all know, it was part of a bigger case involving tens of missing children, a now demolished bridge, and a polaroid of said bridge.

Issue of the Day [10/1] #180: "Red Sepulchre (Part 4)" In a thrilling finale of trickery, John gets confronted by Domine only then to get interrupted by Goodall, right before determining the fate of the sepulchre. Can John save Gemma?

Issue of the Day [10/2] #212: "Down in the Ground Where the Dead Men Go (Part 6)" "None of us have anything to lose, except our lives. And life without power is a thin and threadbare thing. You hold a dagger to my heart, Rosa. But it cuts both ways."

Issue of the Day [10/3] #86: "Warped Notions (Part 2) The Everything Virus" John discusses a robbery of John the Baptist's head with Francis Dashwood, who says that it's a sign of the end. A similar belief to The Church of Virtual Reality, a cult which John got involved in later.

Issue of the Day [10/4] #30: "Fatality" "How should you feel when you've just killed a man?" Does John even have what it takes to do so?

Issue of the Day [10/6] #249: "The Roots of Coincidence (Part 3)" John finally meets the person behind his every step, the one tugging on the strings of his life, the shadow. And it is not close to what he had expected.

Issue of the Day [10/7] #111: "Last Man Standing (Part 2) No More Heroes" Shadda tells John about a conflict between Arthur and Myrddin, who then reveals it's about the Holy Grail. Jack says that it can only be held by a king of rightful blood, someone who John knows very well.

Issue of the Day [10/8] #14: "The Fear Machine (Part 1) Touching the Earth" John, "Face of Evil", joins a community of travelling hippies while running away from the cops.

I can't personally comment on this because I don't have NPD, but it's definitely an interesting topic to discuss! He hadn't really been diagnosed in Hellblazer.
