.BBC insisting on reporting racist rioters as 'protestors' and 'demonstrators' is a gross misrepresentation of the violence impacting communities of colour across the UK. Language matters.

The anti-racism protests across the UK have been a wonderful reaffirmation of our collective humanity. But they will not, on their own, defeat racism and fascism. That requires political leadership. It also means an end to the mainstreaming of racist language and ideas.
