It's tiring being a #hoglet

Clover out today being pecked by birds. She's very underweight (85g) & was crying out in fear & hunger. She was cold on arrival & very dehydrated. She's had formula & is on a heat pad ....the next 24hrs are critical ...before and after cleaning up her face #hoglet

They stopped long enough tonight to get the binoculars out and they are indeed #jackdaws

Clover has made it through the first 24hrs and has managed to have a bit of food today independently. Still a long way to go and I'm not 100% sure if the eye will heal. #hoglet

Daisy's Hoglets are almost 4 weeks old and she's now taking them to the food and encouraging them to eat for themselves, today I saw her sneaking back to bed whilst one of her babies ate independently #hedgehog

The phone is still red hot with calls, mostly of babies seen out. Sadly, a lot of these are the result of disturbed nests. PLEASE, I know it takes a lot of willpower, and I know they are so sweet, and I understand you are so keen to see them, but PLEASE do not disturb a nest. You

Sad news on Clover, as the swelling went down it was clear there was a misalignment with the jaw and she was unable to fully open her mouth...she was euthanised this morning #hedgehog

After taking Clover to the vet I came back with these 2 80grammers Hoglets....settling in #hoglet #hedgehog

Another new arrival this morning, this poor boy was found in a swimming pool, thankfully he was seen before it was too late. He was shaking with hypothermia on arrival and is currently on a heat pad and has had warm fluids #hedgehog

(⫩)Helen Hedgehogs 🦔 These poor darlings so desperate for water in this drought, they risk their lives because the smell of water even in a pool is too much to bear. I really would like pool escape ramps to be made mandatory in all bodies of water. They are so cheap, but save so many lives.
