Ss made a letter in their name with tens and ones and then found the value. They were then challenged to make the same letter with a bigger value and smaller value. Kiddos loved the creativity and I loved seeing their problem solving! No pictures :( #HSEFutureReady #12DaysTwitter

Day 4: We had a new case from the word detectives to investigate using our snap word - INTO! We learned some words are compounds made of more than one word. We played around making words and then looked for them in our reading. We found evidence! #HSEFutureReady #12DaysTwitter

Today we learned another strategy to help us be super smart about nonfiction topics . . We can find and think about key words as we read. We read Tugboats together and then practiced with our own books. We are becoming strong readers that can share with others!@SoutheasternEl1

Day 5: I would love to have a couple of swings in my classroom that kids can wrap themselves up in. These would provide the movement, darkness, seclusion, fun reading space, tight confinement, etc that some kids (lots of kids & ME) crave. #12DaysTwitter #HSEFutureReady

First graders found a crawfish at outdoor exploration time! Huge! They loved watching it crawl from beside this wood piece up onto the grass. I had no idea they lived this far away from creeks. Off to do some reading about crawdads. 🦞Southeastern Elementary @mrsboydfirsties
