I wonder what Bob Servant would have made of this? A good 20 pages of correspondence on the tank top design for the next book right there.

I was very lucky to present my research last month @ the 27th International Workshop on SMS and Super-Res Microscopy, hosted by PicoQuant in Berlin, Germany. Discussing very cool science with very cool people from across the globe was an invaluable experience #scientificresearch

Sad day as we say goodbye to Ozora who has been visiting us for the last 6 months from 電気通信大学 exploring SMS and quantum behaviour in molecules. We look forward to continuing to work with the Shimizu Group. As an added bonus, Ozora has a hidden talent making amazing origami!

Our postdoc, Saptarshi, had his last day today in the Hedleylab. Next week he will be starting a new position in Boston Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)! We're all very excited for him to start the next chapter of his academic career and see what the great things the future brings him. All the best, Sappy!

Our Arcadia summer student, Alana, did a tremendous job at presenting experimental work that she had carried out in the Hedleylab over the last six weeks on Thursday to the rest of her cohort. It's been lovely having her in the group and we wish her all the best for the future!

We have an open PhD position for October 2024 start. To look at single molecules we move them large distances apart from each other, kind of like in this video. In this PhD we will do this, at very low temperatures, see findaphd.com/phds/project/p… for more info.

Our Masters student, @imactuallyorla, did a tremendous job at explaining some really tricky science yesterday to a vast audience in the Chemistry Department. This covered photon antibunching and FCS as part of her Masters' presentation. Very well done, Orla!
