Soybean basis moved higher at the Gulf with recent orders from China driving some demand. Basis in the Midwest was also steady to higher and farmers took this as an opportunity to sell

It's understandable to have skepticism about this deal with China and that these purchases will be made. It's a good start to see an additional 4 cargoes purchased. China's economy was much harder hit by this fight than was widely reported so the incentive is there to play nice

Now that we have more details about the trade deal with China it looks like we are securing the current demand and getting back to more fundamentals in this market but be ready for higher bean prices, especially if South America runs into any sort of weather issue

Combines will roll through the weekend then most of the Corn Belt will lean into a drier bias going forward. China's weather gets their harvest back on track while recent rain in Europe may have slowed harvest. Brazil will see rain that should help keep the planters rolling
